Officers Mess

A few more days...

Posted by Benno on 08 Jul 2008, 02:41

.. and I'm done with school for two months! Woohoo! I've been working on a lot of stuff for school the last couple of weeks (that's why the homepage hasn't been updated yet). I sat so much behind my computer screen, animating and coding in Adobe Flash, my pupils became squares!

Here's a picture of a Flash animated movie I'm working on:

That dude has to look like me... kinda.. (my drawing skills in Flash suck big time)

I'll post some links when they're done (may take a while though).

Well I'm not completely done with school yet.. I ment the summer holidays. I'm (or was) in my first year of the study of Applied Arts and Technology. It's normal if you think.. what the heck is that about? Most people do.

It's got to do with graphic design, like webdesign, posters, magazines etc etc.. and with film/television (cameraman, director etc etc)... and with animations.. and some other stuff that nobody does, except for a few people. We also get classes in psychology, presentation, creative thinking etc etc. There's a lot you can do with it later.

It's a four years course, with two years little bits of all the stuff mentioned above. In the third year you've got to pick one of the seven mainstreams and go deeper into it (don't know how to say it correctly in english). At the moment I'm thinking about choosing for webdesign.

I hope its going well for you.

It sounds like an interesting course and very useful.
I am an editor on Final Cut Pro and one of the biggest changes to the TV industry is the effects of technology.

Something like Final Cut means that people are now expected to be able to perform many different tasks, not just be on offline/online or a colourists for example. Off course there will always be call for specialists but it looks to me that your course will give you a good grounding in many different fields.

Good Luck

Milano !

Oh, first of all - CONGRATS JESUS !
So have you got your marks allready ? I'm waiting for mine these days..

And good luck with your animation, Benno !
Will we see it if it's done ? The picture looks funny !

Nice holidays to all of you !
I hope it doesn't rain too much.. Just a little, so we can sit down and relax, painting and reading and things like that. But sun is a must ! ;)

So to my forst line again - if you go to Northern Italy, you should visit Milano ! It's such a great city..!
And if you have some time and gas left, give the Toscana a try ! Firenze is wondefull..
Oh, I love Italy.
:P

Right now, I'm looking forward to a trip to Weimar and Thuringia with my girlfriend.

So where are the others going ?

The hairs not blonde enough...and of course the suggestion of a part should be more to the center. You haven't shown it but, one can safely assume that you've left the area around your feet in this cartoon COMPLETELY BLANK...prolly just a big white blank disc.

Enjoy your holiday.

Congrats Benno and Jesus. My son of 19 reached also the finish-line!
He's studying to take care of older people like me. Next year he will do the seventh year, and after that maybe high school. But that is the future.
Next week it's my turn to go on a fine holliday! Two weeks at Berchtesgaden, Germany near Salzburg, Austria. the nature is so beautiful over there!
So next week I have two things to look forwart to, my holliday and my birthday :king: :occasion:
At all the others who leave earlyer, have a nice and inspirating vacation

Greetings Peter

Enjoy your holidays, everyone!

With a two-month-old baby to take care of, there'll be nothing like a holiday of any kind at all for me this summer.

Just returned from our three week family holiday in Borneo where we managed to see lots of wildlife including Orangutans in the wild. Got to indulge in my other great passion of birdwatching but alas no miniatures to be found anywhere.

Hope everyone enjoys their short summer break and returns to the forum fresh and reinvigorated ready for some serious painting

Cheers

I'll promise to put some new stuff on the forum shortly. Last week was a very busy one. Last weekend I was a guide at an introduction camp for new students, organized by my student union, and from monday to friday I was a guide at the HOI (= highschool/university introduction days). I also had few herexams last week..

I was working on a figure, which only has to be based. I'll try to have it finished asap. ;-)

Hi Benno,

The animation was great: had to do with a task from school or just some practice?
