New appetizers to 8th army in north africa

Posted by sansovino on 04 Mar 2023, 19:05

Here my first british tanks for north africa and the desert-battles.

I have used one Airfix and two Fujimi Matilda-tanks which have received some additions like flimsy-cans or a fuel tank on the rear or the flags etc.
There are still more works to do ... and I will add from time to time more vehicles and troops ...

It was a pleasure to spray the camouflage patterns on the Matildas.

Excellent looking tanks!

I'm always wondering what this camouflage is based on. With these straight lines you would think this is a camouflage that can be used in towns (between the buildings) but not in open desert. If someone has some more information about it please let us know. I will read it with big interest. ;-)

I like the look of these Matilda II tanks very much. You have done a really good job with the camouflage pattern and weathering. Fine work indeed!

Thanks a lot for your positive responses. And Peter, I think the camouflage didn´t worked. The british didn´t continue it with their later tanks. I presume, they thought it will work better from long distances, that the tank silhouette will been difficult to identify.
