Try taking the photo from a little further back to allow the camera to focus on the entire scene. The photo should be of a high enough quality that you can clip it down to a good size and still have a good image.

I know that some people swear by taking photos in the sunlight, but I can't do it, it makes the shadows too harsh (that might be a result of the harsh sunlight in this part of the world). Having multiple indirect sources of illumination can also help.

Anyway, got myself a camera

A Kodak EasyShare C613, 3x zoom, 6.2 megapixel, downprized from € 119,- for only € 39,-

Now to learn to make photos...

Protip: Get a little tripod too. Makes a big different when you're shooting close up.

Instead of tutorials (might be better for the website) we could try build reports, from start to finish, with progress photos. But then really every stage of the build.
