My latest purchase

Posted by ModernKiwi on 11 Apr 2011, 22:56

15 new Vallejo paints to replace all my remaining crappy Tamiya acrylics (really some of the worst paint to use on figures in existance) and Humbrol enamels.

Next up, to find a place that stocks the new Orion Israeli's.

Amongst the latest additions this time around I got Waterloo1815's WWII Japanese infantry set,
odd though it comes in a rather large box, slightly smaller than a regular Zvezda fig box, and yet the contents of the Waterloo1815 set are all loose and in one tiny plastic bag, such a waste of space inside, though I do like the figures and the box art.

also these where added:
Strelets:
107 (1877) Russian Dragoons
108 (1877) Russian Hussars
067 Russian Dragoons in winter dress (Nap.)
087 Russian Hussars in winter dress (Nap.)
Zvezda 8062 Russian foot warriors XIII-XIV A.D. A nice set

Hi Kiwi,

Tamiya's paints only good for airbrush IMHO... they dry way too fast for brush work.

Glad you got the Vallejo, I enjoy them tremendously.

@Luchs, slightly off-topic, but I was curious if you knew who made the Italian army carbine for lorry drivers in WWI, it's a single shot that loads like a shotgun, ie. the breech and stock split to load shell. I ask because my Grandfather was issued one when he enlisted. ( I know i probably should pm this but I also wanted it open for any one else to put their 2cents in).
