Amazing. And that must be one of their worst sets. What would he do with one of their better sets?

Yes, I totally agree!
A clever painting can make look brilliant even those "so and so" figures!

I liked them then and I still do now, all these old sets were sculpted by John Niblet his metal figures in the same scale were superb...

Good old days! ;-)
I was born in '67, those Airfix indians are older than me!
I was a child, and I remember such satisfaction and joy when in mid seventies Atlantic started the "Far West" series...
It was such a pleasure to integrate that Airfix set with some more figures of native americans figures!

That was a good read about John Niblett; I didn't know that. Were there others who sculpted for Airfix besides him? I had many sets and seeing them again brings a good feeling like nostalgia, and makes me want to get them again.

It may be that I will not ever be able to say that my 1/72 are finished after seeing these other ones, that look so much better. Then again, maybe they just need more work.

The Airfix Indians are my absolutely first 1/72 set back in 1971, so you can imagine how I feel any time I see them ...

I also like the way he treated the Revell WWII German Pzgrenadiere in the Stalingrad diorama - another set commonly considered among the worst ever produced, but they look absolute masterpieces out of his hands
