Well I am fine, but I am about 1,000km away from where it happened. I know a couple of people down there and so far they've all checked in as rattled but otherwise OK. I'm hoping that it stays that way.

I got in a panick when I read this on the web this morning...I phoned my wife and told her..cos of her brother but he lives in wellington ...
Sounds pretty bad.

It was a kind of tragic day today. On the news first this disaster, and later on the day a good collegue of mine had the news his mother died.

It must be a weird feeling: all is shaking but you didn't drink....
Hopefully no one we know was hurt.
