Your good intentions for 2011!

Posted by Peter on 31 Dec 2010, 17:11

Every year when we go from old to new, people ask what your good intentions are for the next year. Well I ask this hobby related.

For example my good hobby intentions, before starting a new project, are:
1. Finishing the Group Build Teutonic Knights
2. Finishing my Bruno Arnal figures (still two to go)
3. Finishing my Italeri Church (I really have to do this one)
4. Going on with my American War of Independence project
5. Going on with my Plancenoit project (that includes the church)
6. Buying lots of new sets
7. Helping all my friends on the forum ;-)

These are my intentions for 2011, with one exception, and that are the Painting Competitions ;-)

Now that I have written this, I know allready that I will break this intentions, but who cares (except maybe my wife :-D )

So what are your good hobby intentions for next year? I will be pleased to hear them. ;-)

Here are mine (well at least some of them):

*finish the Teutonic Knight GB
*try 15mm
*get a blog going (well, we'll see about this one...)
*work on figures every day, even if it's just for a few minutes
*participate in a duel/painting competition
*be more active on the forum

(and of course buy more figures :-D )

Slow down and take stock of what i have, stay with one (or buy more of one) interest/genre ie WW2/anicents/moderns.Paint more figures, build more 1/72 buildings and finish them off, plan more projects more carefully.

Due to the VAT rise thats affecting us in britain,i want to see what affect it has on my spending??.
To be really happy with everything and look forward to a brigther and greater new year, and just to be inspired by all the "fantastic and brilliant hard work" shown on this forum :-D .

I am going to see if I can go a whole year without buying a set, with the exception of gifts (BDay, Christmas, etc.)

As for painting, just have fun!

I think my intentions are as follows;

- Buy 2 new display cabinets - This will allow me to seperate my airplanes / Nascar / and now figures.
- I really want to build a diorama with a Tiger/Panther and some troops. Need to determine if I want a city scene or a field type scene.
- Learn more techniques for figure painting/photographing/converting
- If nothing else happens I must buy a set of the new Hat Austrian Grenadiers! My hobby shop guy checks for me every week, still not released.
