Movies

Hello,

I don´t like movies with historic touch, but I believe that these russian movies - less known in western europe and overseas - could be interesting.

First a remake of "Taras Bulba"

and a mini-serie (and cutted movie) about "Admiral Kolchak"

Best regards

has several errors

That´s right. I read that they replaced his first military skills from the Russian-Japanese War to fiktive actions against german soldiers. I don´t know why, but may be that the russian audience prefer to see german ememies loose. Tztztz :-D

Nevertheless his curriculum vitae is very interesting and remarkable (and very less known in western nations).

According the remake of Taras Bulba I hope that there will be a german translation anytime in the shops... and without such terrible shortings like in the chinese epic "Red Cliff". :angry3: $§%$% :angry3: &"%§"§%$§ :angry3: :angry3: !

Best regards

Last night I watched Talvisota (The Winter War, year of production is 1989) - film is excellent, and must see for all historical/war movies fans.

French film "Brother Warrior" - in my opinion the most realistic movie about the Middle Ages. There's no such spectacular scenes in "Arn" or "Black Death" - but he, in my opinion the most truthful.

Is the soundtrack composer Hans Zimmer?
In that case I wouldn't be surprised!
It seen to me that since he composed Crimson Tide soundtrack he spoiled (quite cleverly) and developed the original tunes, creating good variations on the same themes for other films.
Just like many other composers of famous soundtracks who do the same: Morricone, Goldsmith, Elfman, Newton Howard, Williams, etc... :headbang:

Then unfortunately there are other worst musicians and composers that copy and plagiarized the same tunes for b-movies soundtracks, advertisings etc. :nono:
Unavoidably with much poorer outcomes. :vomit:

Morricone :-) .....in Robin hood there´s a bit that definately is stolen from "Ecstasy in Gold" from the "good, bad and the Ugly" (the battle on the beach scene in RH)

Oh!!! and how does maid Marion not drown, wearing chainmail and a helmet?? :winky:
And it is an owl being used as a hunting bird and where did That HUGE pine forest come from?? !!!!!!!

...as for the last Robin Hood, I was taken by surprise twice - first when I saw LCM's on the beach, and secondly when I realised that Robin didn't bring any machine gun with him (and with his merry men accordingly). What a mockery! What a waste of resources...

Judging by the end of this movie, they are ready to shoot a sequel. What a horror.
