Worst Box Artwork

Posted by The Observer on 06 Sep 2010, 20:05

...and of course : what do you think is the worst box art ever printed on a figure box?

Here i think Strelets have a good chance to go far..... ;-)

I will cast a vote for the worst as being Odemars box art with Strelets coming in at a close second.

Strelets box art isn't that bad.

Odemars looks like it was drawn by an 8-year old :)

But it's not fair to kick a company in the ground when it doesn't even exist anymore.

I have never bought anything by Strelets or Odemars, but my Caesar sets have had the worst box art so far of all. Which just goes to show you can't judge the quality of the figures by the box cover.

That's right. It's a funny discrepance that can be observed for quite a while now already. Caesar sets are some of the best around, but the artwork esp. on their first 2 dozen releases was quite crappy/childish. Then you open the box: voila, a big & neat surprise! Although it got better lately, their artwork could still benefit from some sort of "upgrade" imho.
On the other hand we have the brilliant artwork from Hät, which sadly never matches the contents of their boxes.

We can be thankfull that the box art of Pobeda, Ykreol/Odemars, LW/Evolution, Mars, HYTTY, Metch & the likes doesn't inspire much confidence at all. :-)
Well, the worst box art?
Will go for that ape child Paul posted.

Regards

P.S.: Strelets box art mostly isn't that awfull. Which can be said about several of their often bashed figures too. But each to their own.

I'd also go with Odemars this one particularly http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=828 with the Caesar hoplites coming in second ;-)

Strelets get worse. Their old painted boxes had a certain charm, but these new ones are giving me nightmares.

or maybe that's what I've been consuming?

I bed these men are all members or associated ones to Strelets and it is an honor to be on the box cover.
I am glad that this is not my period
