Moving all your figures and models is hard work. I learned how not to do it with my last move (back in April) and simply packed them all into boxes and left it to the movers. I have been gluing bits back together ever since. I'd recommend moving anything fragile yourself.

I agree with Kiwi move the fragile stuff yourself. As for packing I used plastic bins small size ones of course that depends on your figures I had a lot f mounted 15mm stuff to move some of the vehicles are very fragile. I used cotton balls to cushion them in it worked great, I'd rather be removing fuzzies than re gluing all those MG.'s on my tanks. I then put the smaller bin trays into a larger tote. I think if you move it yourself you'll be likely to be more careful, let the professionals move the big stuff. The cotton balls are cheaper than bubble wrap ( unless you want to wrap them up individually and have access to really cheap priced bubble wrap).
I hope that helps and good luck

Depends on how they are based. You could put them in boxes etc and fill the spaces around them woth sawdust, the chunky stuff not the veryfine. Bubble wrap.
If they aren´t too many, put strips of double sided tape on the bottom of the boxes and press the bases onto that.
But as has been said, moving them yourself is way better.

Yeah, but when you have 5000 soldiers to move? I can't imagine myself putting double-sided tape on the bottom of all of them! Well, I suppose that this, or putting cotton betwen them all to fill all the empty spaces between them in a box, is better that let them go all over the place, loose their paint, or even break...
