My website was hacked!

Posted by Martin on 15 May 2010, 23:18

It was a shocking experience when I was notified (by some regular customers) that my website was hacked.
Immediately I went to my site and noticed that some trojan virus showed up.
Due to my good visusscan it couldn't do any harm.
Then I tried to restore the index and home page, in which I succeeded.
But after some days it happened again.
Together with my provider we took some pecautions.
So I hope that it will never happen again.
There are people out there who have pleasure in doing such deeds. Very pathetic folks.

Sorry to hear that Martin. I used to run a php forum website (much like this one) and it got hacked by some Turks. The software at the time was just too vulnerable, and every week or so after that we would get hacked again. I finally just gave up.

Lovely old vandals ... they are funny today ...
Being engaged with the children and observing the behavior of many people, I realized that people who deliberately spoil things, writing on the wall (not graffiti) - compensate for the way his inferiority complex. They usually own can not do anything to make or create. And want to stay away from you something, smashing created by other people. :angry3:

without deep insight in men´s psychological abysses: sometimes they are only odd ducks with no brain, but a lot of useless intelligence. The same people who are using cell phones during car driving (speaking about the danger of using cell phones while driving a car), smoking at filling stations (full of fear about the possibility to be killed by an suicide bomber) and building totally nice, but uselesse houses (with exceptionall designed windows at the north side) - some geeks, nerds or mental kiddies. Thats the problem. Such persons are living beyond moral - and they are living next door. (Aliens????)

Well, all I can say is that it wasn't me.

More seriously, I have never understood the motivation of hackers who just spoil things for the sake of doing it. Criminal activity I can understand but mindless vandalism - what's the point. They should all take up painting miniatures. That will keep them more usefully employed.

They were Russians (sorry Alex) who did it.

If you want to make a real stunt, then hack a ministry of finance or a bank.
Or Poetin's website or Obama's one.

Yes, Martin, I'm not even surprised ... In Russia a lot of talented people that find application in the criminal world. But even more - just morons who got into the hands of great tools (computers, or finance - it is not important) - but not teach the consciousness of responsibility.
I am very upset and sorry, Martin. :(

The only hacker I've ever met was this withdrawn kid who smelt badly and had no friends.

He barely spoke to anyone, even if you made the effort to try to communicate with him.

I thought he was intellectually challenged: his grades were awful.

It was discovered he'd hacked into the school's computer network; changing grades, posting porn, destroying pages etc. He'd found access to a great number of passwords, including the principal's. He was only caught through luck as he was very cunning.

He was expelled for this. Evidently he was some sort of computer-genius but totally retatarded with regards to personality and human feelings.

He now heads a large computer anti-virus company.
