The oddity of this is that in the UK (I use this term loosely) the EU laws are pressed a bit harder than in the rest of the EU, because they are new and everyone is trying to get to grips with them. For example, if I was to sell a gold fish to a 14 year old in germany I could be taken to court under contract law, the difference being that here in germany the law is longer in use and therefore "ignored". The welfare of the goldfish,in this country, a sentient being I remind you all, would on the other hand be completely ignored.
