I remember the classic occasion when Jerusalem first hosted the contest, and the BBC commentator opened with the words; "Welcome to Israel, a Mecca for tourists!"
...yeh and spain bunged it´s vote to Israel cos it didn´t want to win. At least one European country had the sense not to prolong the torture of it´s populace with the banal crap it had produced.
