Pneumonia

Posted by Martin on 17 Feb 2010, 13:30

After some days of flue I went to the doctor.
He told me I had a complication: a Pneumonia.
I am coughing my longs out and I am short breathened.
First I thought: Hoorray, I am ill, so I can paint a lot of figs....
But now I know better: I absorbes all your energy.

Does someone else had such an experience?

I know what you are talking about, Martin, being myself a doctor who observes frequently people with lung disease ;-)
You will paint a lot during the recovery process, which will take some days, but better avoid doing it in the acute phase...

I got some good medicine:
penicilline and prednisolon.
My father has mixed feelings about pneumonia.
His father died of it in 1943 in occupied Holland.
Penicilline was available but not there, so my father was half orphan at the age of 8.
Alexander Fleming discovered it in 1928 but it came in production after the US entered WW2.
On D-day there was enough available for every wounded soldier.

Antibiotics and cortisonics ? Strange therapy ...
I know those facts, they are part of the history of medicine

I feel with you.
I have an allergy rhinitis. which is quite similar to yours. Althogh it affects more the nose than the lungs. Last November I spend a whole month at home and believe me less models painted then usual.
But hey much time to watch the all time classic DVD's, and planning new purchases, projects and so on...

All the best and a big bowl of Tea and Rum..

Get well! The missus had it a couple of years ago and got blood poisoning too. She almost didn't make it. Her sister had the same two years ago, she didn't. :( Hope you have good doctors and get well soon! Had it myself when I was a kid (without the blood poisoning), but all I remember is how dizzy I was.

Yes take care Martin!

Got the flu myself since saterday. Not feeling good at the moment, and about painting, I'll restart when I'm feeling better. You can't paint when you can't hold your mind on it.

It´s not a joke. Pneumonia is a hard desease, and Painting means high concentration. Do not touch a brush until you are really fit again. Use the time to look inspiring movies.
Get well soon!

i feel with you Martin, best wishes from here.
Watching DVDs or listening to Audiobooks is the best you can do in your situation. And, needless to say, going online on one of the best websites in the www
