Damn! I'm exhausted...

Posted by chen on 29 Jan 2010, 00:13

Since the last few weeks I've been busy working among a bunch of school stuff, and this situation is not gonna change until the end of February. But now I feel totally exhausted, and even worse, I find myself loosing the interest of painting ... :boink: It's been several times that I dropped brushes not wanting to paint anything while I should have had time to paint a bit. Even simple mould line removing work or slight conversions appear demanding to me and quickly got me "bored". I hope it's only a temporary status because of stress but at least for this moment the unfinished figures on the workbench make me feel only more stressed. Oh I beg your excuse for my senseless complain here.

To be honest, and I think I can talk for everyone here, well at least myself I can go through 2 to 3 months at a time without picking up a brush.. the good news is that it always passes

Yep, I agree with Fenton on that one (and you all know how little I've posted lately  ). For me it's usually a matter of just getting started on something, and before you know I'm still painting 4 hours later.... So chen, no worries, it'll get better.

Yes don't stress about it Chen. One day soon, out of the blue inspiration will strike and you will feel the need again. I had the same problem for about 6 weeks late last year and now I feel much better.

I think we have all been there and not to worry something will come along and inspire you. Like everyone has said stressing about it is not going to help. Take a break its o.k. its not like the figures are going anywhere
watch a movie read a book or magazine, hang out with your buddies. that always helped me.

Been there several times, even threw away figures 'cause I didn't believe I would ever paint again. But here I am, trying to paint every Sunday morning. :-D I think and hope you'll be back.

And here I am thinking if I don´t paint something practically everyday I´m loosing it!! I use it as a form of therapy, calm down, have my own space for a while, even if what I´m painting is absolute S**T.

But if you have more important things to get out of the way eg; School then I´d get down to that. Don´t burn the candle at both ends, like Musketier says, the bods aren´t going anywhere :-)

@Suso, don´t throw them away, I´ve got plenty of room :-)

Thank you so much for your encouragements, mates. I'm eager to death to take a break in the end of February. I hope I can refind the mood to get my other JGSDF soldiers and KFOR germans painted then.

BTW, Paul you are too harsh to your figures. ;-)

Hi Chen,
Cheer up, mate!
It's a sour apple you have to bite through.
After rain you'll get sunshine.
Before you'll even know it is March!

Take a deep breath and relax Chen. I've been true this to, and after reading a good book, seeing a good movie and some relaxing walks, I found back pleasure in painting. ;-)
