Hopefully there will be lots of Derring Do and throw away one liners as all Robin Hood film s shouls..My fave Robin Hood film is still the Patrick Bergin/Uma Thurman one...followed closely by the Sean Connery/Audrey Hepburn one

It´s the only look Russel can do :-)
It looks a great film.
With this one Mr Scott won´t get accused of altering history to make the film.

Mind you, it will produce some cracking new lines for Russel.

Imagine, Russel has just killed off about 20 of the sherrif of Nottinghams men in a blood soaked fight scene.

The sherrif to one of his men at arms. "who is that hooded man? I would like meet him"
Man at arms "they call him Robin your majesty"

In the woodland glade a few moments later after all the cheering peasants have calmed down.
Sherrif to hooded hero "you, what is your name?"
Hooded man " they call me the hood sir", and he turns to go.
Sherrif. "how dare you turn your back to me!!, Turn around and remove your hood!!"
Hero turns , pulls down his hood. Marion gasps in recognition.
Hoody says " My name is robin, Robin Hood. Earl to Loxely. Father to a murdered son. husband to a murderd wife and I will have my revenge, in this film or the next!!"

To me, it's not that important how or by whom Robin is played, but what his merrymen are like, too:

A keen and cunning Will Scarlet..
Can it get any better than Slater ?
I doubt it.
Maybe a young River Phoenix would have been able to do so.
But that choice was interchangeable, anyway..
:sad2:

Alan-a-Dale ?
This character has sooo much to offer, yet, it was only thought through in the TV series I mentioned before. And there, the whole musician was missing !
No, I haven't seen a good Alan-a-Dale thus far.
How about Corin Nemec ?
Convert him, someone !

Maid Marian ?
Alyssa Milano, with green contact lenses.

Little John ?
Abraham Benrubi.
:viking:

[...]

Oh, I'd love to have the new movie in cinemas already.
;-)

Well, a high budget movie on the high middle ages, with Russel Crowe? Couldn't be better!

But this time, they should make a disclaimer stating that this movie is by no means historicly acurate

 jippi!

Looks very good so far! Can't wait! :jumping:

I think that sounds like a perfect day: a delicious breakfast ( with chips ;-) ), a sunny day for making some medieval figures on the balcony (for the medieval mood), and then a little thunderstorm so the cinema (with Robin Hood) is the perfect place to be!! :-)

For the Germans: 13. May is the premiere!
