Three more adventurers.

Posted by blacksmith on 07 Aug 2023, 19:30

Three more adventurers. Two plastic from Caesar Adventurers box and one metal from Elheim, the barbarian. I picked up the first one in plate armour to use it as paladin or questing night, but after painting it, I realised about his colours and his winged helm and decided he could also be a knight of Dol Armorth and painted his shield accordingly. The third one could be Felix Jeager from Felix and Gotrek, but I didn't paint him blonde.

The metal barbarian is a bit crude even compared to plastics; and his sword a bit small for my taste. Such big muscles for such tiny sword.

And here is the shield. I couldn't decide which picture was better so I uploaded both. I'm quite happy about how the shield turned out as it's rather small.

I second Dalibor on the swan. I like the other two figures too - special mention to the barbarian

Very good painted figures, and that swan is really great! And when someone mentions a knight called Johan I always is reminded of his friend Peewit. :-D

It's very interesting to see other's painting of the same figure. Philotep has given me the idea of painting this guy as a vampire, and I think I'm going to do it.
Cheers!

Totally agree with Rich and all the other guys. I especially like the third figure, I've always thought he could be a good Boromir.

Another fantastic trio, Javier!

I am late but I like these ones very much and the shield with the swan ist very good. Looking on the new releases from Red Box, you'll get more figures for your army!

Me too. Is there any expectations that this could be possible in a near future? And if the answer is yes, will they look like the ones in Peter Jackson's films?

I think it's quite probably they end up releasing a box of Gondorian infantry, completing the army in the same way they did with the Eastermen. They have released rangers and cavalry, so the next logical box should be infantry, and obviously similar to the ones from the movies, just like the cavalry and the rangers.
I hope it's a matter of time :)
