As far as I can make out, British paratroopers & Glider troops wore the same uniform?

Absolutely! They wore the same uniform. On the location of their wings insignia were different. Glider forces wore the wing insignia on their breast, whereas the paras wore it on their right sleeve, so out of my head.

At 1/72 I don't think this will trouble me.

The rank and file GPs were all Sergeants. All Paratrooper/Glider Troops wore stripes on the right sleeve of their smocks.
Sometimes you see piccys of GPs wearing stripes on both sleeves of the Denison smock.

Thanks, Harry.

In a fit of madness, I bought enough AB figures for a (Rapidfire) battalion + a glider company & ATG gun + crew.

They're lovely figures & worth the effort needed to paint them decently. I've finished 2 companies, a Vickers + crew & two 2 figure piat crews from the HQ company- 23 figures. This is about a third of the pile I bought - remember P&P is cheap as I'm in OZ so they were a "bargain".

I'll be tempted to get more of the AB airborne (a Glider pilot company is very tempting) but this is enough for some games I have in mind - seizing a bridge at Normandy & needing rescuing in the Netherlands. Without heavy support, any game they feature in will require rescue!

cheers, donald
