Grumblers Houseboat Holiday

Posted by The Grumbler on 21 Sep 2009, 07:36

Hi all,

Just got back from a weekend of houseboating on the Murray River here in the land downunder. Not a paintbrush or miniature figure in sight for a change. Although I did sneak aboard a couple of White Dwarf magazines ;-) (I swear I only buy them for the articles honest)

We boarded the Adventurer Friday morning.

But all good things come to an end and here I sit uploading this to you all preparing for work tomorrow :( All is not lost I'll be on holidays proper in 4 days time for two weeks, yay :P Happy days 8)

Cheers

Australia must be fantastic and filled with variations.
You could also pretend these pictures were taken somewhere in Egypt ;)
Well, okay, the kangaroo is not so typical in Africa, erm..

Anyways..
Beautyful pics !!

Gruß,
Marc.

My god that things slimy, scaly and ugly; no wonder the fish and your daughter look so scared

Seriously mate looks like you had a cracking time and a lot of fun. Wouldn't swap it for the cold snap were having and a weekend wallpapering the back bedroom for my eviction... oh shit... yes I would. :(

Anything outside of a tidy back "garden" and they catch a case of the vapors.
Makes you wonder how we got where we are in the first place.

That looks like a fun trip. Great pictures.

Hi all

Grumbler:
Back in 1973 my old folks migrated to Australia. I was 7 years old back then. We lived in Brisbane for 4 years, and then returned to Spain. I have to say that even though the place isn’t exactly the same, to wach these pictures and to be able to actually talk to an aussie (god bless internet) makes me some kind of homesick.

I'll never forget Australia. Well my sister was born there.

saludetes

It truly does look an amazing place. And a great place to unwind.

But Westie don't forget "Sons and Daughters". I think that were we first saw Misses Mangle.

I think you just totally missed my joke there dude... never mind, you'll get it eventually, I'll give you a bit longer we clearly didn't export our sharpest down there to the CSA.

Interesting side note- a case of the vapours was actually wind in Victorian England.

Looks idyllic, like a Huckellberry Fin style holiday.

and it meant that women were always fainting and had a "case of the Vapors"
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-were-the-vapors.htm. (or they were just excusing themselves to go off a let a noisy one out :-) )

Three things I never turned down when offered...

A chance to pet kittens.

Unicorn stickers.

And, hugs.
