That looks like a very impressive bit of engineering drawing and a lot of work.

The finished article will no doubt be excellent.

Best wishes,

Chris

It sure looks impressive. And those drawings look like they are made by a real architect.

One remark. Shouldn't it be easier to take the measurements before making the cardboard model? Just a thought I had.

Thank you dear friends ! :-D

Peter, yes I could take the measure before assembling the paper model but in fact it require more work to understand where exactly are assembled the other parts. To my opinion it's better to assemble it and then cut it into several part according to the measure you need to take.

I've finished the plans and worked on cupolas, made of thin plywood plate (5mm thick - 13/64 inches) cut according to the plan and stacked with white glue and Araldite, to fix the metal bar at the center (in order to use the lathe).

Then come the work with the lathe to smooth the surface, I have now a wood cupolas base of the right shape for super details who will be added on it. There's 11 of them and none is the same, different shape and colors. This is the only time I'm using wood for this cathedral, all the other parts will be made of plexiglass or others materials. The wood was the right choice for an easy work on those onion shape, but heavy tool is needed.

I'm all right Dykio, :yeah: thank you for asking and sorry to be late, I have to take care of some old relatives because of the Covid crisis, but I still have time to work on my project. God wouldn't kill me when working on one of his cathedral !

More work has been done !

I've covered those onion shape with 2 layers of epoxy resin, but only on parts that will be left uncovered.

Then I started small details with white PVC sheet (0,5mm thick), followed by some others details with putty (green Milliput) shaped with a modeler knife.

the orthodox cross are made of plexiglass (2mm thick), glued with Superglue.

Same material for the second dome, I started with PVC, followed by milliput for the upper part (because it was more easy to combine 2 materials for a satisfying result). And the tip of the dome is adapted with white putty (for car body).

The smaller dome will be painted plain green, no details on it. the small sphere on each one is a plexiglass drilled ball.

Do you have a technical training?
A lot of skills for a hobby model maker.
