I've had trouble seeing your pictures lately but finally all is revealed. They all look good but I particularly like the drummers, fifers and mounted officers, I hadn't really considered that art of tactic sets before but your command figures look great.
And what a splendid bunch those Tambour Majors are, they all look quite magnificent.

That's a lot of positive feeling, thank you my friends ! 
I'm starting now with the french foot artillery from Zvezda, there's also some metal models from "fine scale factory" bought many years before, everything on the 2 photos where the ambulance stand is made of metal, the rest is Zvezda's plastic figures and models.
So, there's :
-- 12 canons
-- 4 limber with horses
-- 7 limber without horses
-- 5 wagons with horses, including one in metal without horses
-- 1 ambulance
-- 106 figures (gun team)
-- 48 horses
The primer is made of Tamiya colors :
Horses : light Brown XF72, dark brown XF10, grey XF24, and white
artillery and wagons : Green XF26
The foot team is painted Vallejo 70809 Royal Blue with black wash and drybrysh (the base color mixed with 50% of white applied with a flat brush).
The team on horses received a black wash on their white trouser, followed by a drybrush Vallejo 70837 pale sand.
The jacket is Vallejo Andrea Blue 70841 with wash and drybrush. the jacket has some parts painted in Vallejo 70899 Dark Prusia Blue. Buttons and straps are white.

This reminded me greatly of my own horse drawn guns and riders that fell under the sweep
of my painting brush in those far off days of silent colorful dipping.

Team on horses :
straps buckle is vallejo 70801 Laiton
sword : black and gold (70801 Laiton)/ white and red 70909
Whip : vallejo 70847 dark sand with a black wash
The foot team :
the red parts of the uniform are painted in white first as a base, then covered by red vallejo 70909.
the jacket has some parts painted in Vallejo 70809 (The grenade badge meaning they belong to artillery) on the back.
There's a blue stripe (Vallejo 70809 Royal Blue) on the red of the cuffs, and 3 gold buttons on it (vallejo 70801 Laiton), not to forget the buttons on the front of their uniform.
Then come the white stripes underlined in black with a very thin brush 5/0 Kolinsky.
And I wish by advance a merry christmas and happy new years to everybody with plenty of new scale models (or figures) to build and paint.

I've nearly finished the figures for the french artillery ! 
boots, shoes and gaiters : Black with gold buttons (Vallejo 70801 Laiton)
The gourd for officers : Vallejo 70846 brown Acajou
bayonet sheath and sword cases : Black with a with stripe and Laiton 70801 for gold parts.
black ammunition pouch on the back with a metal insignia (Laiton), this has also a red ponpon attached, like the sword.
Back pack : Vallejo 70940 Saddle brown with stains of 70876 brown sand, the whole covered by a black wash (mix of 90% of water and 10% of black paint).
Rolled coat above the backpack : Vallejo 70989 sky grey, with black wash and drybrush (the original paint mixed with 50% of white and applied with a flat brush
White straps enlighted with a rotring 0,3 and covered by Vallejo mat varnish.
A box in front of the stomach is painted Vallejo 70875 brown with wash and drybrush
The lateral bag of the cannonball bearer is Vallejo 70977 desert yellow with wash and drybrush
The case for the firing rod is Vallejo 70940 saddle brown
The bucket is Vallejo 70875 brown with wash and drybrush, the metal part is 70864 natural steel, underlined with black.
The Charleville 1777 rifle is a specific model for artillery and Zvezda made the details very well !
Wood : vallejo 70846 Brown Acajou
Metal : Citadel color 61-55 Mithril silver with Laiton rings (70801)
the details are underlined in black with a very thin brush.
Some tools for gunners :
The ramrod to clean inside the gun 70822 brown and black
Nail : 70864 natural steel
The powder charge for the cannonball is 70918 ivory + black wash and drybrush, the cannonball is black
The firing rod is 70864 natural steel with a cord 70819 sand, covered by a black wash.
I've done the face according to what I did before :
- base : Vallejo 70860 medium fleshtone
- Wash : Vallejo 70875 beige brown (mixed with 90% of water)
- Drybrush : Vallejo 70955 flat flesh (with a flat brush)
a touch of white Vallejo for the eyes, the black dot and the mouth is made by brush this time.
HAIRS come in 4 colors :
- Vallejo black 70950
- Vallejo Burnt Umber 70941 (the most common color)
- Vallejo Black brown 70822
- Vallejo Beige 70917 (for blond people)
I've added a black wash only on the Beige, and a drybrush only for the others colors.
Shako is black with a cord painted in white first, and a second time in red, with gold insigna (70801 laiton) and the white red blue cocard, I still have to make some blue again because the blue dot was too thin to be seen, hidden by the flash I guess, so I will have to re-work on this. This is how enlarged photo help me to see small mistake hardly noticeable otherwise !
A little secret : when you take photo, do it at a distance from the figure, 10 TO 15cm not less, then cut the extra space around the photo with Windows 10 and the center will become bigger ! never try to take photo from too close, it ruin the light and the sharpness.

Very impressive ADM. I had seen your project way back and actually joined the forum forgetting that you posted here! Great to see you still at it which leads to this question: once the French are done is what comes next? Your work amazes me both for quality and quantity. I feel overwhelmed doing a single box of HAT figures. HATS off to you sir for this project. We'll all be anxiously anticipating your next installment.

I got a good laugh realizing I was scrolling quickly through pictures of gorgeous women all dressed like Christmas presents to be unwrapped while thinking "where the heck are those Russian Grenadiers?" That's when you know you have a damn serious hobby!

Some more work done with this artillery set, the crew on horses is finished, as well as the horses.
The team :
Black boots with spurs (Vallejo 70864 natural steel) attached with a strap (Vallejo 70940 Saddle Brown)
The Shako : Black, the front plate is Citadel Mithril Silver 61-55, the cord is white,
the feather is Vallejo 70841 Andrea blue with black wash and drybrush.
The round insignia is white, then Vallejo 70909 red with a white stripe on it.

The horses :
they're beautifully detailed and it was a pleasure to give them some colors !
All the horses received a black wash with a thick brush above their base color (Tamiya) applied with an airbrush to save the finest details.

they received a Vallejo white drybrush with a flat brush
A black drybrush has been added on the legs, the mane and queue is vallejo 70819 Iraqi sand with wash and drybrush.
The hooves are vallejo 70874 tan earth, black eyes, the muzzle is made by a drybrush vallejo 70870 marine grey
Black also for the mouth and the nose holes.

A vallejo 70989 sky grey drybrush on the whole horse (the base color is a touch of Tamiya XF24 mixed with Tamiya white)
Some white stains on the horse added by drybrush above the grey. A black drybrush on the legs,
the mane and queue is painted in black with a drybrush vallejo 70883 silvergrey (I'm always using this color to drybrush the black).

Personally, I still feel your ‘eyes’ stand out so vividly that they detract from your painting excellence which is a pity.

Very clean painting, very bright and eye-catching. I like that you've tried to do the eyes and I know how hard it can be to get them right because the scale is so small. I mess them up all the time; most of my time painting eyes is fixing them haha. Thanks for the tutorials, hope to see them completed.
