Primer Recommendations

What does everyone recommend as their favourite primers to use? I'm currently using Vallejo but always find it's very very runny (even after I've shaken etc). I'd also like to try and get a primer in white or black as the grey one I use is really hard to use on grey models! Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

I use a normal spraycan from a cheap store, cost 1,29 euro to spray a lot of figures, works fine for me!

I use Tamiya white acrylic primer in a spray can. It works pretty well.

I do like Will, white paint (GW). Used Humrol Lavender a while because I had got some for free. Tested black, but didn't like it that much.

Dupli color sandable primer. I get it from automotive store, cheap and works great. A couple of light passes is all it takes. I never have issues with paint adhesion even on soft bendable plastic (hat, Caesar figs).

Yeah, but isn't Dupli-Color only good for metal, wood, and fibreglass? I am not sure how it will react chemically with plastics, especially soft permeable plastics. Just wondering.

The website says that but it works just fine on plastic I’ve been using it for years. There was a rumor that Privateer Press primer is just repackaged Duplicolor primer. No idea if it’s true but after I read that I tried it and it works great.

Tamiya fine surface primer is the best I ever used but it’s pricey.

I used to have some of that. It was pretty darn good, I have to admit. Best primer I have used, now that I think on it.
