The larger double sided Corinthian 7 inch Column, was moulded in the larger Lego Box,and the cheap odd side already shown was a perfect success, costing 5 Pence in Plaster of Paris and it worked a treat. This mould cost £7.00 and a few pence to make.




I certainly lucked in obtaining these ornate columns from New York State.Remnants of a long ago wedding cake.

A couple of rare Asterix figures were double sided moulded with rubber left over. Nothing goes to waste. These will look out of windows to give an extra flavour of detail,on another project.

Columns of Ramesses III
" does bb,model the whole statue then smash them up like in the picture?"

The ornate double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt , and the Goddess either side of his feet,marks the iii Ramesses, out for certain.

They certainly got whacked over the years,and especially now too. BB

Here my silicon mould is supported by what i term a rough plaster cradle designed to keep it level and quite sound as the Plaster of Paris is poured in . The Silicon & Soap method mould is thin enough to flip away from the edges and release the full figure casting. Being rubber it reforms its shape. This method meant no three part mould was necessary. One part for the column ,and two parts for the full figure and without the aid of a moulding box the Pattern was covered over with 100 % silicon,and pressed into place by hand. No gloves or powder of any kind was needed. The 19 cm column cost £3.00 to make. This is the first time that I formulated this soap method, using my rough and ready cradle.



Upon removal the near perfect entire figure was smashed up!

Ancient Egyptian Ruins Ramesses iii, It is a proven fact this Ramesses had his throat cut wide enough and deep enough to have proven fatal.

As the evening shadows fall upon my work table,this casting up work meets an ending.
Scenes within story book settings are now made possible.



The BRITAINS Toy figure of 54mm, sets the perfect scale as head height is slightly under the knee of these columns.

You have been very busy in this topic so you have a lot of likes from me. It looks most impressive.

Are you starting to clone Asterix figures to? I recognized the one on the column.

Well not that busy really Peter,but I do have enough columns finished for several photoshoot displays within my fantasy story book themes. An army of eight hundred plus cast up for later smiles of serious fun lay in boxes.Complete Egyptian Columns all finished too.
All that is now required is the colour-wash dip in my own muddy mix of acrylics, and all is completely coloured and sealed tight. This sealing tight means that they can be handled like any ceramic tile can without chalky dust getting upon hands fingers or anywhere they are placed. It seems like magic,and the wash takes a second to do in way of fizzy dipping.

The Rubber Mould,and the successful end result. On Half Way House ,is my method of plaster topped thatching made many years ago.
