I like the early Hat Prussian Musketeers and Fusilier , because they are hard plastic.
Both sets: one box to paint up and one box in the collection.
I plan to use the French Hat Infantry as French Foreign Legion troops. BB

Is there no end to my purchasing? This one is off ebay much cheaper than in the catalogue.

Scale link SLC 051 10 assorted grain sacks in white metal.

The catalogue looks very interesting. I'm sure some will be interested in the various water pumps, village pump/ horse trough and the agricultural tools.

Sometimes one can hesitate to join in on a group build because of the cost of rare sets ,and in this case one like this one from 1971 worth £40 - £50 on E Bay.
I sent a few figures from the set,to The Grand Parade, but just replaced them by buying this set of AIRFIX ASTRONAUGHTS. So I am happy to have taken part, and even more happy that I picked these up for the pricely sum of £7.99.
The old saying "You spread your bread upon the waters",and another meaning the same reads".What goes around comes around." So It is Simply Replacement Magic. :-D BB

Ordered some stuff from Fredericus Rex!

Stenfalk's shepherds (wish there were more available sets) Don't know what to do with the, but they look lovely on the picture! :-D

Valdemar Medieval children VA148
Valdemar Royal family VR010 with a couple of dogs! :-D
Valdemar Drunken knights VA186 seem to be a dog here :-D
Valdemar Ship crew VA177 and here too! :-D
Some of these will join Ålla. :-D

And some tufts of grass from Green Line for my little Rosebud-scene! Green grass so I can have another base for different scenes other than my African Savannah-base. :-D

The one set I did paint ,I put pins in their bottoms so they stay put sat upon stuff provided. Enjoy your model soldiers while taking time out to have fun. BB

My latest purchase is this fine ship made by Mr. Cryns, which should be familiar from this thread here. Some quick pics, just for demonstration purposes:

There are several reasons why I like this model very much, besides its nice overall design:
1) It is a waterline model, which suits the needs of the diorama builder.
2) It came together with accessories, i.e. the cargo, which can make the final result much livelier. I really don’t like it when some of the larger companies sell you a “nude” ship without any extras.
3) It belongs to a general type of ship that was quite common in antiquity, but is not elsewhere available as a model at all. In Roman times, this design would more or less correspond to the ship type called “corbita” (“little basket”).
4) At about 14 cm length of the model, the ship would measure some 10 meters in reality. The size will be ideal for river transport, which is the diorama idea that I will probably realize using this model. The rather modest size will be a nice contrast to the significant larger ship that I used elsewhere – I don’t like the idea of doing essentially the same diorama twice (so it will be definitely not Colonia Ulpia Traiana, modern Xanten, again).

Most certainly flat bottom boats are best, as the other ones have to be sunk into a thicker base within diorama`s.
A jolly nice boat. Watch out for Pirates, there were such thieving fellows in all periods of history. BB
