I know these have been out for a while now, but I've just recently bought them:

I held off buying them because I thought they were rather expensive, considering WW2 is not my main period of interest. But recently Plastic Soldier Company had a sale for the D-Day weekend and that brought the price down so I didn't feel quite so guilty. The service and speed of Plastic soldier Company was great.

I was very surprised by the size of the boxes; the Churchill one is big, and the T-35 one is huge! So, in some aspects, the price is justified. There are two models of each tank in each box, and I only need one, so I'll be sending 1 of each to my brother in the hopes that he'll get back into modelmaking.

I also purchased (from Jadar Models) the two new Austin Armoured Car kits from Master Box:

They look very finely molded and I noticed the British one (what MB call "Mk IV") has the Indian Pattern (used in Third Anglo-Afghan War) as an option. I will be building the WW1/Anglo-Irish War version, so the Indian Pattern wheels will be spare, and it seems they will fit the Mgebrov-White I'm currently building. So I may not have to cast up new wheels after all; bonus!

dave, how big do you make your cavalry units?

I'm curious to see how the Zvesda French dragoons match with the Italeri ones.

I plan on doing the dragoons first so I'll try to post pics soon. Horses are not my favorite so hopefully a series of WIP post will keep me on track.

Latest sets from June, and last year..
Image
I do not have all the boxes, so this is a montage, img's from net

all, except the camel troops, and the mounted line officers(2 boxes of 'em from last year) are only leftover sprues,
basically 75 % of the figures left on the sprues, but the whole package was only 4,5 $ (paid in hungarian Ft) :-D
.. well honestly I have no Idea what will I do with the French early WWI infantry, 3 sprues

for the rest, I have ideas, but no time... ;)

you're right, they looks ok,
and thinking about the Napoleonics uniforms, and the speed I paint, only five or six years I need to finish all.. ;-)
but..
that WWI figures are half way back from now in the timeline, they must be painting easier, at least 50%, :winky: so I will start on 'em, and I learn to speedpaint...on 'em :-D :joker:

:-D Well no invasion as such, but just running two good reliable Loco`s coupled together pulling a train of 30 or so wagons and other rolling stock. Railways often used this system of pulling trains. I rewired and upgraded my track to be able to do this without blowing the transformers. HOPEFULLY ! :( Having a four track railway system in place means I can run 8 Loco`s that can pull simaliar trains upon ruffly 80 foot of track. Seems big but it `s not. So German,Italian,Russian,Japanese, and Allied trains are possible with cheap model kits. One even of The Great War Period too. A Classic example would be the train with Britains Top Secret Weapon aboard it ,The Tank! :-D

I wanted an 88mm Flak Gun, for the train, and I remembered this old set from the 1960`s,which also had the tractor to pull it,and as it was Free Post,I bought two. £6.74 a box. A great deal for a lot less than other company`s who sell around the £10.00 mark for the Gun alone, and the tractor another £10.00. So I got a good deal.

Two more Flak Guns for the Train

Image

I manage to buy two boxed sets of other Guns. Three models in each box,and one being the Flak Guns in the Photo. Sorry no picture of the box. The other Guns were a 75mm and a smaller one perhaps 40mm. That`s It, I have my Munitions Train. :-D

I know what a loco is. I think we all are a little loco sometimes, and that is what makes this place so nice!
