My latest purchase

Two more very rare sets from the year 1960 AIRFIX Colour Guards Party & Guards Band in Mint Condition. I suppose I should scratch build a model of the Barracks sometime. That is if I can obtain photos of the Army Barracks in Norwich in the 1950`s. So I now have double set`s of the first figures produced from AIRFIX,and as can be viewed in " BB`s Toy Figures,"posted today, the last set they ever produced in 1981 when they went into receivership. Hornby owned until recently AIRFIX .

I bought these mainly for the French Figures, because I intend to make my own sleds up,and I have Strelets Horses a plenty to pull them. Often was the case the wheels were removed from supply wagons, and sled runners fixed underneath them.

Two of each. One to construct the other still boxed up in the Collection. These Revell model kits just the right scale, and closer to HO OO scale. So HoneyWell might well have a Flying Circus . BB

Just a suggestion, Paul. It's SPRING! Not Winter! Cool! Will be fun to see what you will do with all these sets.

Gunnar, I am thinking oddly as always ,that these could be used for a Flying Circus in the Post War period after the Great War!
Or just for crazy very Tall Tales!
I imagine one crashed into a building, like Mr Triggles Cottage, and him being so Hopping red faced Mad, after seeing all the work on his highly prized thatch roof ruined in such a way. Then after helping the pilot down gently like with a rusty Pitch-Fork. I can see him along with his dear Wife ,and the German having Tea & Sticky Hot Cross Buns ,and them all laughing about the whole affair, with the lucky aviator whose war has ended in a very soft landing indeed. Hi Jan,the model s are Revell, but HoneyWell is my little town on my railway Layout,a place where all my tiny scratch buildings end up.If I can squeeze it in, it will have a tiny airfield for a Flying Circus! Sorry for the confusion! BB

I have been working throughout the night typing ,and before turning into my bed for a well earned kip! I managed to obtain ,and buy two of these Triplanes. Not to easy to find at a reasonable price, but I lucked in and bought them for £ 5.20 each and £2.50 post.

I have been looking at some really good design patterns for all my German aircraft, and so I plan quite a colourful collection for the Flying Circus. Crazy Stuff!
So I now have the main battle line of German aircraft from the Great War period. Some ground crew would be nice, but if I am unable to get them, then conversions will be the order of the day. BB

Both kits below obtained at a very good bargain price.

I simply bought the one above because it has different decals . This probably is an early kit.

This one I bought because I need some parts for a quirky conversion!

A small haul from Salute

The battleground books were an earlier purchase from someone over on the Guild and picking them up at Salute saved a lot of postage.

I know back in the day 1964 they never hardly wore helmits, but one buys what is available. These and a few more that I intend to buy will replace the ARFIX ones that broke. BB
