The “Bennos Figures Forum Famous Waterloo Project” (BFFFWP)

Posted by Susofrick on 02 Feb 2015, 16:35

Are there going to be any Carabiniers? Maybe can update one, and maybe one ESCI figure too. Polish lancers, but the Dutch lancers were there too I think. Maybe can update some of these too. But first the Airfix guy!

Well - I suppose I just got it wrong in the first place. I didn't consider the different set types in the list...

Nevertheless - I'll send you the Hannoverian conversions anyway. I have them out of my box and they'll gonne be finally useful for something. ;-)

BUT - in the line of Prussian sets you forgot the Waterloo1815 Prussian line infantry. I have one of them already painted (marching pose) - just put it into the list, won't you please?

HaT Prussian reserve infantry - I have one painted.

Revell Prussian infantry - I have some, I'll paint one.

Italeri - the neckless French line infantry. I'll paint a voltigeur and a fusilier (perhaps in the colours of the Swiss regiment?)

Btw - shall the figures be based?

Hey Jan, I have done all the updates, except for the figures of Sascha! Can you both decide which figure(s) it will be? And don't start a war!

If you want me to add something on the list just let me know! I will be a bit more active on the forum the next days! ;-)

Hello Gunnar!
Thanks the ESCI Polish Lancer is still free. So you can take him if you are in the mood after painting the Airfix French Infantry. Just let us know.

Hello Sascha,

no problem with the list.

And thank you very much for the ESCI British Infantry figure painted as Verden Landwehr!!
Please let it based.

BUT I did not forget the Waterloo1815 or the other Prussian sets, but this project can not assemble all the available sets, because otherwise everything is out of balance in my eyes. I really do a lot of research and spend two days to prepare the list, that is - in my eyes - in balance thinking about:

the nations
fame in the battle
the manufacturers
the importance of them concerning the history and meaning in our hobby
the armed services
flag bearers
producers important here in the forum

So Waterloo1815 is represented with other sets since "imho" their Prussian Inf. set is not their best. HäT is present with 8 sets already that is really a lot.

The figure from the Revell Prussians is taken by our friend Dirk
and the Italeri Set figure will be painted by Paul.

But what do you think about painting the Waterloo1815 Prussian Hussar? I am still thinking about your prizewinning French Guard Chasseur from Revell. So I can imagine that a Prussian Hussar from you would be great. :notworthy:

What do you think? There is time enough. Just let us know!

Greetings
Jan

Dalibor (Kekso) will paint the Zvezda French Artillery (Firing gunner and the gun) and the ESCI Guard Artillery.

Thank you!

The first one on the list Anglo Netherlands Army : Esc British Infantry is below.
Some members might have this set.

Image

Image

Those above made under Licence by Italeri, are the same set of figures produced first by ESC, in 1984.
So perhaps other members might have these.
I thought this information might help out, because one could also be used from this set too. BB

No worry, Peter - it's just me being confused. Especially after I saw in the BFFFWP-thread that people are painting figures that haven't been marked as 'taken' in your list whatsoever. It's that sort of thing where somebody drops in 'from the side' and doesn't know what the other ones are playing. No need to start a battle. ;-)

Well - I could take on the Prussian hussar as well as the Lüneburg hussar, but as I don't own these sets, somebody would have to help me out. :?

Hello Gunnar,

if we add all these units we might have to much HäT, to much French, to much Cavalry and to much French Cavalry. But the Dutch or Polish Lancers are both the same figures from ESCI. So you can use these two sets for the Polish Lancers of the Guard:

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=94
and
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=214

But take your time to decide. I think if there is another one who wants to paint them he will post here...

Hi, let me ask it, if I understand it correctly only one gun and a gunner?
just because I lost the limber and the horses somewhere in our flat,
so if you need only a gun and a gunner (or more gunner)
then count me in 8)

Hello Peter,

please add that Kekso will paint the Zvezda French Artillery and the ESCI Guard Artillery

"Italeri Napoleonic Wars Accessories / plus two figures on it" will be painted by Luke05 (maybe I will help a little with the figures ;-) )

And I am going to paint the: Art0353 Luneburg Jagers 1813-15, advancing

Finally I think that Sascha is going to send his ESCI British Infantry figure to be added to the Group Project (I hope so!!) An maybe also the Prussian Hussar as well...

After this project runs nearly a month I would like to add a list of figures that are still free to chose.
I hope that we will have other participants from all over the world!

Peter is so kind to update the big lists at the beginning of the topic. This here is only to get you informed quickly.

Thanks to all friends still painting.
And now o not hesitate and be a part of it.

Napoleons Army of the North

Strelets French Army in Advance / one of the figures in the second row
One of the few sets of Strelets, that can be used for Waterloo.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1581

Zvezda Art of tactic Napoleonic French Line Infantry
One of the new kind of Sets Zvezda is actually producing. Art of tactic.
http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http%20...%20KMBEK0DMCg

ESCI French Line / every figure but not the command group
Not correct for Waterloo, even not correct at all, but a set a lot of collectors started with.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=102

Odemars French / one figure pressing against the gate of Hougoumont
In combination with the british counterpart representing the small companies from eastern Europe
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1299

Schilling French Inf. / standard-bearer
He is the ensign for the French Line Infantry
very nice figure from this manufacturer
http://www.schilling-figuren.de/product%20...%20cts_id=163

SHQ Line Infantry voltigeur bugler
Another popular tin-figure manufacturer.
http://www.shqminiatures.co.uk/Ranges/2%20...%2032.235.105

...and for this project we can get a special figure from Hagen Miniatures
http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=157&t=16571

Imperial Guard Infantry:
Art Miniatures Young Guard Trialeurs
a famous german tin-figure producer. When I started collecting and painting a lot of units are only available from him.
http://www.schmaeling.de/napoleonische-%20...%20arde-1.php

Franznap: Marines of the Guard
As far as I know there are only 107 men present at Waterloo and not in this uniform I assume, but I would like to add this fantastic set from Francesco Messori. So just let it happen...
http://www.franznap.jigsy.com/SHOP#!/Fr%20...%20y=10028354

French Cavalry of the line:
Airfix Curassiers / the fourth figure in the first line was my hero when I was a child.
So a must have set for me in this project.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=40

Franznap French Lancers
the opponents of the Scots Grey have to be present in this project, as well as another set of Franznap.
http://www.franznap.jigsy.com/SHOP#!/Fr%20...%20y=10028353

Strelets French Husars
Strelets made so many sets that made him an important producer. I choose the Hussars.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1218

French Guard Cavalry:
Revell French Mounted Guard Chasseurs / a riding Guardsman
Napoleons Guards and a set from Revell I really like. Maybe it will be reissued when the new combiset comes out. Actually it is hard to get but – I guess – in a lot of collections.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=316

French – Artillery:
Franznap French Artillery Train Command
http://www.franznap.jigsy.com/SHOP#!/Fr%20...%20y=10028360

France – Personalities
Strelets Napoleon and Mameluk
Strelets will be present with two figures from the very rare set of the French General staff
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=765

Zvezda Ney / first mounted figure second row
the most important Marshall at the 18th June
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=2002

Anglo-Netherlands Army

Great Britain – Line Infantry
Revell British Infantry / British Soldier for a square
Another standard version and my favourite one.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=313

Airfix Highlander / firing or loading
Also not the best figures for these units, but the champions in the memory of childhood.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=575

Great Britain – Guard Infantry
Art Miniatures 1.Footguards (1.Corps, 1.Brigade Maitland) / Ensign
The British Ensign for the diorama. A very nice figure, in my eyes, to add to the scene. Beating the Guard in the end.
http://www.schmaeling.de/napoleonische-%20...%20raeger.php

Odemars Brits for Hougomont (2./ Coldstream Guards) / A figure closing the doors of Hougoumont
Corresponding Set to the French Infantry
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1292

Great Britain – Cavalry
ESCI Scots Grey
I saw this set painted and displayed in my local toy store 16 years ago and it was my start collecting figures. So it must be part of the diorama. And generally speaking, these Scots had ridden into the pages of history.
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=93

Great Britain - Artillery
Airfix British Horse Artillery / The officer with the telescope in both hands and a gun.
A very cool figure that, in contrast to the ESCI sets, is using both hands while looking towards the enemy. Might be Captain Alexander Cavalié Mercer
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=593

A Call to Arms British Artillery / Gunner with a canonball.
One figure of this manufacturer must be used as well. They are on the market for years as well.

First: I'll try to find an Airfix horse for the cuirassier. If I have one, you can count me in for this one.

Secondly: I happen to have a set of the Newline Design Dutch Line infantry Command.
And there is an ensign in it. The Dutch had no flags at Waterloo, so the pole stays empty.
I have to paint this one. :sweatdrop:

Thirdly: I have also a set of the Newline Jaeger Loading and a set Jaeger Firing.
Pse say which one you want, so I can paint this one too. :sweatdrop: :sweatdrop:

Secondly: Do you think we can be free and add a flag for the dio. It should be a symbol for the Dutchmen fought at Waterloo. I would really appreciate if we have flags for all the main units.

Thirdly: I have not seen the Jaeger so you have to decide ;-)

Big step forward!
