My latest purchase

A good way to add to your collection is buying more figures. And as I good figure-buyer I have done just that!

Hat Ruga-Ruga
Pegasus California Mission Indians
Red Box Scurrers
Strelets Military Order Sergeants
Strelets Crusader Transport 1 + 2
Strelets Norman Train
IMEX Alamo Accessories
And some bases.

I was very tempted to buy some of Hat's Zulu war-figures, but lucklily for my wallet they weren't available right now. :-D

Hello,
I took a whole lot of money to complete my war of spanish succession collection with a lot of boxes from GERMAN and BUM from Spain. Some limited ones with the Jacobite Rebellion and some older and hard to find Napoleonics from the same manufacturer. There are interesting things about these sets. Very few figures but they are never boring, always unusual poses and as a highlight there are very very interesting diorama bases. The prices are high. High. High and high but at christmas eve I got a real figure flash. There where more than 30 boxes under the christmas tree. Maybe I will limit myself next time, but the experience of the last few years was, that everydaysets are sold out, out of production or the companies disapperead. So there is a fire burning inside: must have them all before they're gone....
Greetings and a nice 2015

I received sets of the Revell Thirty Years War (both infantry & the cavalry) & the ACTA English Civil War (all 4) last week.

They were won in an auction & cost $20 (+P&P). Cheap?

They are simply beautiful figures.

Ooops! Been painting my Airfix figure for the BFFFWP and decided that I can not open the package before I finish this little project. When I've done that I will open the package and try to remember to say something about them.

I'm not interested in WW1 Africa but I'm thinking the Ruga-Ruga set might have other Colonial warfare uses. Were Negro bearers used in the Sudan?

Should be possible. Mine are going to a very not-historically-correct story involving Lord Greystoke and other characters. When I open the package I can make an opinion on the figures.

BTW, what do you have for sale in 20mm? Maybe you can send me list to pm?

Talking of money and on saving it,a wonderful thing that FiddleWood Gnomes like to do. I bought the British Light Dragoons, and Dutch & Polish Lancers, Job Lot £3.00 a box with no postage. Why so cheap?
Damage to some of the boxes. Not being bothered about something that will be recycled ,I bought the entire stock available. The figures all arrived yesterday ,and all in perfect condition. I kept two good boxes for storage ,and the rest went flat packed into the recycling bin. BB

One box to replace those that are being painted. Really it is this boxed set that I needed to complete my Napoleonic Artillery Collection.

Image

I do have boxes of the Italeri French Imperial Guard, which are the old ESCI set shown above.

I also bought quite a few Gabion sprues very cheap. BB

These very basic toy figures from AIRFIX came out in 1960, with no detail to speak of,but very hard to find let alone buy. They are very rare boxed set`s,and so £56.50 well spent. When painted they will march their way through my little model town of HoneyWell. Magic! BB
