My latest purchase

Posted by tomikd on 31 Jul 2014, 20:39

This is my last purchase. Very nice dwarf miniatures from resin http://www.mproyec.com/shop/en/figures- ... otten.html from MProyec production. It is limited mini. I own no. 71 :-) What about price............ that is all about the price :-D . But sculpture is perfect. There are any mould. Figure is ready to glue and paint. This mini looks like dwarf from the book of Markus Heitz named Boindil ( one dwarf of two twins brothers) from the book DWARF http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markus_Heitz

Kekso: along with the beer, I'm counting three things :winky: These sets are kinda rare, I was pretty happy when a dear chap on TMP gave me 'bout 200 infantry, 90 cavalry and 8 guns with crew as a gift, to go with my one box of inf. and two boxes of cavalry. Beautiful figures, a joy to paint. Be sure to mix and match heads for maximum versatility. Also, Tumbling Dice's ECW/TYW range is absolutely compatible with them.

And here what I got today from a trade:
Image

The Gaul infantry was originally mine, but I trade with a friend, and now we traded it back. The Strelets box fall into the "why not" category, they'll make a nice unit till I can get some Zvezda Uhlans - or I won't even get them, as I like these very much. The artillery is the third of these in my collection, and it gives me the second artillery train as I've sold one. I had no French staff and officers, so I've reckoned I'll need some of those too. Maybe Napoleon wasn't present at the Peninsula, but I'll paint him up, and find some use for them ("what if" scenarios or something like that).

Not exactly a figure but it might help painting them... especially larger scales. Very cheap alternative to original figure holders... only $2.65 (including shipping) on evil bay.

I'm too embarassed to speak about my new purchase/trades...it's getting really crowded in my room, and I might have a slight feeling that it has to do something with the increasing number of 1:72 plastic minis' boxes stacked in it...maybe I should clear another shelf for them, as most of my new purchases are stacked on the floor.

And of dear, a friend of mine will buy approx. 100 unopened boxes he lets me pick from...he takes most of the medieval stuff, but there are plenty of Ancients in it. I chose about 18 boxes of goodies :/

I cannot rest on my butt, and a friend of mine bought a "small" colelction of about a hundred boxes of 1:72 figures, and he gave me the opportunity to grab what I wanted for a really awesome price, so...

Image

20 boxes, and will get some more. A nice bunch, eh? Let's see them in details.

Image

Revell Normans and Anglo-Saxons, perfect for playing Saga and WAB.

Image

He's building a Teutonic army, and I reckoned these Russians will be a good match against them. I have a box of them somewhere, but in their original Zvezda package.

Image

They'll be transformed into Early Imperial Roman Auxiliary Cavalry somehow, feel free to share your thought on the "how" part.

Image

Mainly for the chariots. Now I have four, once of them will be converted to a scytheless version for Darius.

Image

The more, the merrier!

Image

I have plans with them, but ssssh ;)

Image

Another box of Greeks, they are my third. They'll make nice mercenary units for the Persian-Macedonian wars.

Image

Every worthy commander needs an HQ.

Image

Some more Romans - such a shame Zvezda had to include a full testudo. It's looking nice, but I would have preferred more legionnaires and a second command. Now I have two Testudo worth of soldiers, I don't really know what to do with - if you need them, drop me a message, we can work something out. Cataphracts will most prob. be a mercenary unit, and I really like the minis. 20 cavalrymen in a single box, wow, that's really something, Zvezda!

Image

Also, they'll come from eBay to bolster my Normand and currently non-existent medieval forces.
