My latest purchase are 10 boxes of each ............................................ All these are very well known to Modellers, however most of these are for converting into other Regiments in the Napoleonic Army of France. After conversion l will have another 130 horses left over, and also 170 Hussars which are useless to my requirements so they`ll all go into the Toy Box for my Grandchildren to play with.So l am awaiting an 80 box delivery. BB
Well Dalibor, most of the 410 Imperial Old Guard are for the chop. Head swops hopefully creating dismounted French Dragoons,French Middle Guard Fussiliers & Compgnie de sapeurs which are Guard Engineers.Other conversions are to create another two regiments of light French Cavalry,130 French Line Lancers which will bring up my total number of these to 420. There will be also another 40 French Light Cavalry Chassiers.Another 170 conversions creating another Regiment of French Cuirassiers, and 340 French Cuirassiers that are not conversions. These l look forward to painting, because bluchers look quite splendid.More head swops will create more Old Guard helping out serving the guns, this was quite common in muddy conditions like at Waterloo, those things were far to heavy for the normal gun crew`s to handle.Other head swops will create more French Horse Grenadiers. Hopefully too l`ll also be converting other units into Saoeure-Mineurs de la Garde which are Marins of the Guard wearing metal helmets! All these conversions & more besides will take a long time to do.First l have over a thousand French infantry to finish. However l will post how too Topic`s to help others on the Forum to save lots & lots of money by not having to buy expensive metal figures. l have spent £460 on these Models if l`d bought metal ones it would be Thousands of pounds. However l wish members on the Forum selling metal figures every success with what they doing.Thank you for moving this Topic Dalibor, nice job & l fully agree with the need to move it. Thank you all for taking time out to look at my item. BB
Good god BB, thats some shoping basket, it will be interesting to see your conversions of the figures, i'm sure there are plenty of ideas cramed into your brain box.
Hi blucher, and Delibor,Yip! There is such a tale concerning how & why. Two set`s are very hard to obtain, but have been reboxed by Italeri so by checking the boxed set numbers l now have The Scots Greys to add to my others that l`ve not painted yet. l also have the right horses to do as many mounted Chassiers & Line Lancers that l wish to do.The real exciting news is soon l`ll get to open all my Book`s on Napoleonic Uniforms,so there my be even more conversions to follow.Mrs B bought these Books for little old me,and l promished not to look at them until April.Yes my head is cramed full of conversion`s perhaps l need to get E`m all down in print, and when l open them Book`s l think things might well lead to some crazy work in the near future. My,well our little house Mrs B,and I is flanked by woodland tree`s and is perfect for tiny,FiddleWood Gnomes and is quite filling up with boxes making it look like a Model Shop every day. Perfect! BB
The very large box has arrived with my model figures inside. So here it is. l always take a picture of Pakages if they have signs of damage to them. This one does. So in case of damaged goods needing to be returned this is the best way to prove it,and can be e-Mailed to the supplier concerned. All models already mention were there & were OK! I paid a Wacking £51 for shipping & Handling on this delivery, from Amazon. However l could not obtain some of the boxed models anywhere else.I think l will be living on Jam Butties for a while to ease the cost of buying these.I am going to do a how to,about converting some of these soon on Tutorials. Thank`s for reading this. BB
Just received my Diecast Metal Model car`s & Motorbikes & Farm Tracktor`s for my little Town of Honeywell. These are HO OO Railroad Scale which is tiny as is Honeywell. These models of 1934 were used by the Brits during WWll as Staff Cars. The Motorbikes were used by the Brits too in WWll,and are in the army colour. However these Bikes are way out of scale & would only be of use with 12 mm scale model people. The Classic Ford Anglia early 1960`s just squeezes into the time period of my Honeywell Layout, which is covering the 1940`s &1950`s to the early 1960`s,and is based on what l saw in my youthful day`s of fun & spree.l will continue much more in depth on my topic concerning Honeywell. BB
My second delivery of French Light Cavalry & French Hussars arrived today along with the Mounted Line Officers 1813 -1815The Cavalry will be painted up as French de Chasseurs a Cheval & will be remounted on the right horses for this Regiment from the Hussars set.......Also a large amount of Air Drying Clay. Enough to do 48 bases for the Tree`s that are well under way now. Many will be for the Hougoumont Diorama.
I went to the Triples show with not much of a plan besides picking up the Plastic Soldier Company Loyd Carriers and US Heavy Weapons. All went well until I spotted some bargains on the B&B.
It consisted of several lots of Italeri fast build tanks and bags of Ancient, ACW and WW2 figures. I'm certainly not going to use them all and the excess will go for sale or trade. The box on the right is those I have already decided to sell.
