I am quite happy this last picture is censored, even if the hoplite isn't. :-D He should have a pretty squeezy voice. :-D

Not much progress for today... with that large figure and that large shield small sword looked like child's toy. So I've scratchbuild him a spear (dory). It could do it better but since this is low quality Miniart figure it doesn't deserves perfect spear :-D

Where's the rest? You should spend more time painting and less in the chatroom!

I've tried to do some battle damage on the shield... don't know if I succeeded

The damage looks quite good, but since there's not that much of I take it that he is a very fast killer. The helmet looks good.

Today I tried to paint flesh parts with oil paints and that was a disaster.
Now I need to clean oil paints and start all over with acrylics... it would take some time :angry3:

Great work!!! I never tried oils but I hear they take a long time to dry and I don,t have patience for that but I have seen figures painted in oils that look amazing. I believe the colors can be blended together better in oil from what I hear??? I think I would end up with a big mess and end up starting over again like you.
Nice work, looking forward to the end result!

Thanks FISH... Yes, drying time of oils is very long (couple of weeks) but that's not my problem.
I just didn't achieved desired results. And yes, blending of oils is easy.

I know the figurine, mine is still in the box after sanding and sanding and glueing.... Considering how difficult and frustrating it is, and how "the sculpture" doesn't help you, I think you made a great job! Warm congratulations and keep it on!
