The Bat in the Flat

Ten Minutes ago i noticed this little Guy in our Livingroom

WOW!!!!! You are really lucky!! We have them in our roof but I´ve never had the luck to see on that close!!

It´s still there , i tried to let him out but he doesn´t move even if i touch him softly .
The last 4 or 3 nights i saw him flying through the livingroom and i always opened the window and thougt he´s left the Room .
Now it looks more like he used to hide there the last days .
We are living in a big old 3Sides Farm with huge Buildings and a little Creek is very near so we see very often Bat´s but not in our Flat .

Well at least you will not have insects in your living room

we have got 2 cats , they are absolutly crazy because the Bat is still hanging there .
I will try to let him out tonight , and maybe i get the Chance to make a foto when it flies...

Lucky you, fantastic little creatures. Here in the UK they are very heavily protected by law. To remove that one legally would mean calling in a specialist. Fortunately local bat groups are common and they have the appropriate licences/permissions to handle bats.

It was quite easy to catch ,he doesn´t move or try to escape , he seems more disturbed and a bit angry because i did wake him up too early . Now he´s out again .

Mice on the balcony. Emptied the trap this morning. Our dog doesn't care much about them as long as they leave him alone. And if we contact anyone they will put out poison, so we keep quiet and empty the trap.

Two years ago I found one in front of a store, it started to freeze to death. Nobody took notice, because the store sells some made of rubber. I took it, it got warm, peed on my hand and flew away!

Luke looks just like mine 'Micke', a year old cat found in a park when he had about 2 months

a lovely cat, he is jumping early in the morning next to my pillow, before 5 am, and is always very enthusiastic about early breakfast

OH , it´s not so nice having Mice Had that Problem also Years ago but i had a good living Trapp ...
It was a Boa Constrictor called Frau Meier , she also was pleased about such Visitors .

For some Animals there is to say it´s a kind of Sympathie if the pee on you
but it´s not a kind way to say thank you .

Yeah , Cats are something special , i don´t mind what our 2 ruin , i love them , great that you decided to keep Micke

We had a bat come out of the attic, and it flew all around the house till I caught it in an old coffee can (no, not in mid-flight ) Here in the States bats are the primary carriers of the rabies virus, so one has to be careful... even to touch them by accident is serious stuff. Definitely keep them away from the pets.

Your right Vellek , in Germany wild living Animals often have " Tollwut " so one has to be very careful .
I did wear Leathergloves as i touched and caught it .
And the Cat´s had no Contact at all
