Na Band of Brothers hebben Spielberg en Hanks de gebeurtenissen in de Stille Zuidzee verfilmed. Vanavond om 22.20u. vertoond Veronica het 1e van de 10 afleveringen.

Having seen the 1st episode, it's pretty good. Quite different in style from Band of Brothers though, so don't expect it to be like B0B on tropical islands.

I hope I'm able to watch it, my TV broke down earlier this week, so I'm without one now :cry:

Nope, no signs of "Pearl Harbor" so far. Very realistic. I felt sorry for the poor bastards lugging around the water cooled M1917 machinegun.

It's an HBO production...like Band of Brothers originally. I'm letting them pile up in the HBO On-Demand. I'll sit down one of these weekends when the Missus goes down early and watch a bunch of 'em in a row.

I read a description of one episode the other night and it mentioned Sledge. Is it based on With the Old Breed?

With the Old Breed was one of the sources. It's not like BoB and following just one company, it tells the tale of a lot of different Marines, in different battles and different formations. I think there's even supposed to be one that covers some Marine Airdales.
