These figures seem to me results of 3D CAD-CAM sculpting, not the scultped masters from the beginning. They are certainly full of life (or the opposite for some of them them).
Personally, I have become so used to the sculpted figures in Strelets style - same style Linear-A started with. I will miss them.
Let's see what comes. For sure great topics.
My small (older) quibble - the violenced woman has silicone breasts just as the Amazones before. In that age silicone didn't exist.

Yeah the sculpts seemed more even, less rough to me, CAD-CAM makes sense. I see what you mean, there's a lot of character in traditional sculpting, I suppose the new 3D techniques are technically good, but there's less room for odd proportions or quirks that made traditional sculpting fun.

Still grateful we're getting new ancients!

They do appear much more sterile than the older hand-sculpted ones. I hope it isn't a permanent thing; I do like all the individual sculpting styles.

I am enthusiastic about those smaller ancient nations. Lydians or Urartu are represented the first time or the first time acceptable. there has been a lack of opponents for those prominent ancient nations like Rome or Greece. Now the Carthaginians get a lot of new sets thanks to Ultima Ratio and of course the favorite ancient producer Linear A. Now it is possible to scene up those famous conflicts like Punic wars, war of the Diadochi or those eastern Hellenes ( even Bactria is on the horizon). This is a "Zeitenwende" in this hobby !

This BALLISTA is GIGANTIC - a true monster. You will have great difficulty construction a model city wall capable of resisting.

I'm not sure. I saw a replica at the Roman museum in Haltern some years ago. Sure, it was large, but I'd say it was only twice as high as a human at maximum.

Interesting question.

I'm no expert but I think this giant is possible - especially in terms of Roman military engineering expertise.
Keep in mind, the larger missile throwers were built on the spot, with only the metal parts being brought in. And they were duly abandoned after the siege was over. I can see Caesar's troops constructing something like this at Alesia, for example, or at Carthage or Jerusalem.

The Romans were building 'Deceres' ships at this time - 44 metres long with a 6 metre beam. So they weren't afraid of building large structures. The only caveat I have is the muscle power needed for loading such a giant.

I can see on PSR that there is another set of Prehistoric figures from Linear-A, the Homo Sapiens Hunting Set 2. Does anybody have any information about its release?

Oh great spotting, I guess the ballista is so big it was justified to go into the big sets range!

The thing I'm looking forward to is the upcoming sets on The Roman Army of Maximinus Thrax. We really are going to get the Nierderbieber Helmets in `1/72 for the first time, we're going to get maximum coverage on Roman armour possibilities.
