Dover Castle

DOVER CASTLE

The castle can be approached by foot or car with adequate car parking facilities.

The entrance fee is £20  for which you get a wristband which allows access to all the attractions.

The castle has been expanding since the Romans built a lighthouse here which still stands.

The medieval castle is fantastic with many rooms fitted out with furnishings.

Hands on displays are presented with much enthusiasm.

Cannons, a trebuchet and artillery pieces are everywhere.

World War one air defences to radar can all be found here.

There is a regimental museum of the Princess of Wales regiment which is interesting.

The underground tunnels are fascinating. Here are the hospital tour and the Operation Dynamo tour. Both very informative with enthusiastic guides.

Good refreshment and toilet facilities.

A brilliant day out.

Enjoy the pictures

It looks like another great place to visit. Trebuchet is my favorite. Thanks for posting.

Happy New Year Peter.

No, they are two of my diving friends.

We were diving Channel wrecks including HMS Hermes off Calais ( WW1 vintage) and the weather got rough on the Sunday and hence the visit to the castle.

There is a picture of me at the rifle museum posting but the one of Der Feldmarschall is a lot prettier!

Best wishes,

Chris
