My latest purchase

Posted by FredG on 05 Jan 2017, 16:57

Just a few new figures.

3 Austrian Infantry Colonels in Bearskin. I'll use one each German and Hungarian. That'll keep Grenadiers and Fusiliers in order.

Image

The second lot I just couldn't resist.

A small group of Pavlov Grenadiers and Command

Image

The two Austrians I'll slot in with the current Fusiliers. The Russians will have to fall into line about 4 sets away (this may alter :-D )

Great buy Santi. Roman shields are printed paper or waterslide decals?

Bought some more of RedBox LittleBigHorn-figures. Boxer-rebellion??? Ah, remember that! We hid Valter's toys while we had his Rottweiler friend visiting and I was too slow to take them out again! He wasn't happy! Don't see any figure that fit that description in these sets! Bought 1 sprue each from Battalions and Hordes of:

British Royal Marine Light Infantry
Italian Sailors
Austrian Sailors

Most for the casualty-figs, but I can use the rest for something else.

Buy this
Image

Mistakenly assuming that having the Dingo a Unimog chasis, I could use it to make a unimog in scratch (I spend sometime of my 18 years old in a Unimog and have funny histories abouth it to make some dioramas )

Image

But calculating the real measurements and taking them to 1/72 and comparing with the kit, the wheelbase of the chasis is not the same

Image

So...So buy that kit unnecessarily.

It would be good if Revell make some kit of the old unimog, after all it was a very common military vehicle and it was used in many places...

More Austrians, Jâgers this time.

Here's a selection

I think I'm getting quicker with the painting. However, no matter how much quicker I get at that I can always match it ( or better) with buying new figures.

Having waited a lifetime ,since 1960, for marching British Regiments,
I bought 8 boxes of each on Model Hobbies £5.86 per box and I saved a Cool £24.96
They will look good on my shelf, and are a long awaited for pleasure.
As they march, I wonder if they can hear the guns? :-D

They are £ 7 .66 per box Model Hobbies on E Bay Free Post

They are also £9.50 Free Post Flagbearer101 E Bay ________Who are they kidding?

E Models would not let me buy in Bulk and so lost my order. I do not suffer fools lightly. BB

From Models 2U they are £6.60 per box less 10% for orders over £40 and post free on orders over £60. I think that's a saving of £1.95 over Model Hobbies. ;-)

Got this on ebay. I was the only bidder so it was a very good price.

I've had a few like this. I won a set of these for about £6 a few months ago.

I had permission Peter. Now I just have to wait until she reveals what she wants in return.

I was amazed on that Waterloo 1815 set just how many figures were in it. By the time I get through all my Scots Greys I think I'll have a full compliment of the regiment.
