Painting El Alamein

Posted by gogiovanni on 11 May 2010, 13:45

Hello to all,
I’m new of the forum and I’m not very good in english so be patient with me.

I’ve started projecting a small diorama about the battle of El Alamein (Italian and German side) but I’ve got some problems with the painting of the figure.

To do this scene I’ve bought:

Italeri German Afrikakorps

Waterloo 1815 Folgore Division Light Artillery

Italeri Messerschmitt bf-109 f

I need a painting reference for those sets (of course of the “yellow” uniforms) because there aren’t any codes in the box.

And I’d like to know also what colour you would use to color the Airplane like this:

p.s. If you can I’d prefer humbrol reference…

Thanks to all
Giovanni

Thanks a lot...

In Italeri's set there is only the name of Italeri paints and they are:
Skin Tone that is humbrol Matt Rust
Gun Metal is Matt Uniform Grey
Wood is Matt Naturel Wood
Sandgelb is Matt desert yellow
Lichtgrun is matt grass green
Leather is red leather
Pale that is interior green
Flat Black is Matt Black
Right?

But with you code I have another problem:
158 (Interior Green),180(Red Leather), 111 (Matt Uniform Grey) there aren't on humbrol website and 80 (Matt Grass Green) is only enamel...
Have the already changed the kind of their colours?

Hello mate,

To be honest I use vallejo paints nowadays so I convert most of my colours with that conversion chart.I have gone to the acrylic side and stopped using the trustie humbrol enamels a while ago.

also better for airplane and armor..
anche meglio per gli aerei e per i corazzati..
rembember that are acrylics humbrol and enamel humbrol..do not match enamel with acrylics.
ci sono humbrol acrilici e humbrol smalti..non mischirali assieme..
