A question on WWI Italian uniforms

Posted by musketier on 18 Sep 2010, 19:28

I have a question, mainly because I had picked out a paint to use for my WWI Italians but somehow now it doesn't look right. I looked at Landships site, great site btw, and it basically was saying that the general color of the Italian uniform didnt change color between WWI and WW2. Can anyone offer some help on this, whether its true or not, the osprey books I have don't back that up, but then the color plates are artists interpretation. ( i had same trouble with Austro-Hungarian WWI uniforms as well, so many sources saying many different things).
Thanks

The official site of the Italian Army apparently agrees on the fact that the grigio verde (grey-green) remained the same :

It was a pleasure :-D

Personally, I thought WWI grigio-verde was a bit more greyish - maybe it was only a matter of different fabric and/or fading ... well, there's always something to learn ... :-)
