Looking for a house

Posted by Steven on 16 Aug 2010, 23:25

I am looking for a 1:72 medieval looking house, perhaps something which looks like a blacksmiths house.

But all medieval lookalike houses are welcome

Thx for your help

Yes I think they will do. I have two houses and when I compare the sizes of the houses with those mentioned on the Vaticanenterprises page they will work very fine with 1/72.

that would be great!!

I got the blacksmith figures from valdemar and look for a house as background.... btw. right now you can get cheap figures at valsemar. 10€ 10 figures but you can't choose. You need some luck, but...with valdemars you are always lucky  ;-)

I agree!
Infact we talked about recently, so i make a quick copy-paste from the other therad... ;-)

I know not everybody have enough time,
and scale buildings assembly kits or ready made buildings are the quickest way...
But I always suggest to try scratch-building D.I.Y. in these cases.

Is surely the cheapest way, and sometimes the only way to get particular buildings not available.
And is easier and quicker than it seem, most anyone who tried knows that...
There are many ways and different materials, and in most cases the results have nothing to envy to the commercial models, just see some examples on the forum threads!
We talked about it sometimes, with the search engine you can find many discussions about it with very good hints and examples.

I use mainly ixolating foam panels to make buildings, it's cheap, very easy to work, and allow an excellent detailing.
For most structures is really easy, and even more complex shapes are not so difficult.

There is also this very clever tutorial:

And other tutorials about walls and buildings are in the tutorial section of the forum.

I also made this little tutorial about scratch build buildings:
