I`m trying to make an effort to go through older posts on this Forum. So I came across this one and in light of recent research on the Roman period`s .Yes they had artillery Scorpians,( Machines invented by the Greeks) ,and other stuff too. 60 Scorpians to the average Legion. 4 shots a minute this would send 240 bolts fired into the enemy army. The weight and speed of these bolts would mean that shield and armour would offer little protection. Normally these formed batteries protecting the flanks. The firepower was devastating.
They also had much larger ones too like the one above. Sorry Ben 90,this question was placed before I became a member. Did you ever make or buy the Scorpians for your army? BB
